Scope
This policy applies to personal information collected through the public website. Separate notices and professional obligations may apply after the firm accepts a retainer or provides a secure client service.
Contacting the firm does not by itself create a lawyer–client relationship. Avoid sending confidential documents until the firm confirms that it can act.
Information received
The website may receive information that you choose to provide, basic device and security logs, and limited information used to understand how the site performs.
- Name and contact information
- The general service requested and preferred contact method
- Information needed to identify conflicts and urgent deadlines
- Security, fraud-prevention, and request logs
- Analytics choices and aggregated website-use information
Purpose and consent
Information is used to respond to inquiries, assess whether the firm may be able to assist, operate and secure the website, meet legal and professional obligations, and improve service.
Where consent is relied upon, the form of consent should reflect the sensitivity of the information and the reasonable expectations of the person providing it.
Analytics and advertising
The production configuration must disclose each analytics and advertising service actually used. Sensitive form fields, consultation narratives, names, email addresses, and phone numbers must not be sent to analytics or advertising platforms.
Visitors must receive a practical way to change optional analytics choices. Advertising personalization for sensitive family-law interests should not be enabled.
Service providers and location
The firm may use vetted service providers for hosting, security, communications, scheduling, and website operation. The final notice will identify material categories of providers and whether information may be processed outside Canada.
Security, retention, and access
The firm uses administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the information. No internet transmission is entirely risk-free.
Information should be retained only as long as reasonably required for the identified purpose, legal obligations, conflict management, security, and professional recordkeeping. Requests concerning personal information may be directed to the contact below.
Privacy contact
Questions or requests concerning personal information may be sent to [email protected]. The firm will route the message to the person responsible for privacy matters.
Anonymous website visits
When measurement is enabled, we also record public-page categories and actions such as consultation, booking and telephone clicks under a random, short-lived visit ID. We do not record form contents, contact details, raw IP addresses or private-portal activity in these visit histories. Records are deleted daily after 30 days. You can turn measurement off in Analytics settings.
